Short answer. Christmas is Friday, Dec 25, 2026. The earliest maker deadline we found is Fisher Space Pen: Dec 14 for free shipping on a regular pen and Dec 10 if it is engraved. Darn Tough lists Dec 16 for standard ground. Most makers had not posted 2026 dates on Oct 19. If you mail a gift yourself, USPS recommends Dec 17 for Ground Advantage and Dec 18 for Priority Mail. Hanukkah starts the evening of Dec 4, three weeks earlier.

Carr Valley (sold online through Wisconsin Cheese Mart)Brand check	Gives a rule rather than a date: orders received by 9 AM Central on the Tuesday of the week before Christmas can ship ground and arrive before Christmas. Addresses in its two-day ground zone get until that Thursday, and FedEx 2-Day orders until that Wednesday. Ask them which calendar day that means for 2026 if you are cutting it close. O&H Danish Bakery Brand check	No 2026 cutoff posted yet. Its 2025 post said to order by noon Central on Dec 22 for 2-day shipping or Dec 23 for 1-day shipping; treat that only as a guide to the pattern. Its seasonal kringles are listed as shipping from Nov 2 to Dec 31, 2026, and you can order now and choose a later ship date. O&H ships Monday to Thursday. If you are mailing a gift yourself

USPS publishes recommended send-by dates for delivery before Dec 25. These are for packages you drop off, not for orders a maker still has to pack.

A simple plan

Engraved, personalized or made-to-order gifts: order in November. Fisher’s engraved cutoff is four days earlier than its regular one.
Food gifts (kringle, cheese, sausage): order early and pick a ship date in the week of Dec 14, early in the week. O&H lets you order now and choose the ship date.
Everything else: aim for about Dec 10. That leaves room for a maker that takes 5 to 7 business days to ship at peak, like Wigwam says it can.
Hanukkah: move every date three weeks earlier.

What is the last day to order an American-made gift for Christmas 2026?

It depends on the maker. On Oct 19, 2026 the posted dates ran from Dec 10 (Fisher Space Pen, engraved pens, free shipping) to Dec 23 (Darn Tough by UPS Next Day Air). Most makers had not posted 2026 dates yet. For a gift you mail yourself, USPS recommends sending Ground Advantage by Dec 17 and Priority Mail by Dec 18 for delivery before Dec 25.

When should I order for Hanukkah 2026?

Hanukkah begins at sundown on Friday, Dec 4, 2026, three weeks before Christmas. The Christmas cutoffs on this page are too late for it. Order about three weeks earlier than you would for Christmas, and earlier still for engraved or perishable gifts.

Do makers guarantee Christmas delivery?

Usually not. Fisher Space Pen says in plain words that it cannot guarantee delivery by Dec 24 and will not refund late deliveries. Treat every date here as the maker’s estimate.

Why ship food gifts early in the week?

Kringle, cheese and sausage should not sit in a warehouse or on a porch over a weekend. O&H ships Monday to Thursday for that reason, and Usinger’s sends some areas by FedEx. Pick a ship date that lands on a weekday when someone is home.
