Affiliate and sponsor disclosure
Proven American earns money through affiliate links and may earn money through labeled sponsorships. If you click a link or button tagged “Affiliate link” and buy something, we may earn a commission from the seller. It costs you nothing extra.
How we handle it
- A tag next to the link. Every affiliate button or link carries a small “Affiliate link” tag beside it, not only a note here.
- A disclosure at the top of each guide. It appears before the first link.
- No pay-to-play. Commissions and sponsorships do not decide what we recommend or how we label its origin. Where there is no affiliate program, we link to the maker directly, with no tag.
- Sponsored content is labeled “Sponsored” and sits outside our picks. See the sponsor rules.
- Origin levels are independent. A maker cannot pay to change a level. See how we check origin.
Programs we may join
We take part in the Amazon Associates program and may use affiliate networks such as Impact, Awin, Partnerize and AvantLink, or individual makers' own programs. When a program is active for a link, that link is tagged.
Amazon: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Links to Amazon are tagged “Affiliate link”. We do not show Amazon prices. The prices on this site are the maker’s own listed prices, and the price on Amazon may differ, so check it before you buy.
Current status
Some guides contain affiliate links, and each one is tagged where it appears. A guide with no affiliate links says so in the box at its top.
