What Proven American is, how to send us a product, and how we handle corrections.
What the site is
Proven American is an independent gift-guide site for American-made products, run by a publisher in Wisconsin. Each pick links to the maker's own statement about where it is made, shows a level for how well we have checked that statement, and lists the caveats, such as imported parts or models made elsewhere. We use AI tools to help research and draft the guides, and we say so on our About page. The site is new, so we do not have audience figures to share and we will not make any up.
How we cover products
- Our picks are source-checked, not lab-tested. We say plainly when we have not tried a product ourselves. Read the full method on How we check where things are made.
- Some links are affiliate links, tagged “Affiliate link”. See the affiliate disclosure.
- Money does not buy a place in our picks, a higher place, or a different level. Sponsored placements are always labeled “Sponsored” and sit outside our picks. See the sponsor rules.
Sending a sample or information
- Email us first. Tell us what the product is, where it is made, and link the page on your site that says so. If you have documents that back up the claim, such as a bill of materials or supplier records, tell us and we will say how to send them.
- If it looks like a fit, we will reply with a shipping address. Please do not ship before we reply.
- We cannot promise a review, a mention or a particular level. If we write about a sample, we will say it was a sample, and a free sample never buys a spot in our picks.

Corrections
If a maker's statement has changed or we got something wrong, email us. We check it against the maker's own page, correct it, update the “last checked” date, and log origin changes on the page they affect. Corrections to sponsored pages are made the same way and noted on the page. We do not take money to change a level or remove a caveat that is accurate.
